Coach Tom Rodgers with Ironman Age-Group World Champion

We Focus on Results

Join us! You get one of the best coaches in the country, Tom Rodgers, author of the best-selling book on the Ironman 70.3, The Perfect Distance, and featured contributor to LAVA Magazine, Inside Triathlon, and Texas Runner & Triathlete. You also get an Ironman All-World Gold Status Athlete (Top 1% for age-group), a veteran of 10 Ironman Hawaii World Championships, 3 Ultraman Hawaii World Championships (third overall finisher), and two Ironman 70.3 World Championships. He walks the walk as well as talks the talk, at distances ranging from a bike time trial, criterium or local short triathlons (ranked 2nd Overall for all Age Groups in 2010 and 2011 even though he was over 50 years old), sprint triathlon, to the Ironman, the Ultraman World Championship, and the 3,000 mile Race Across America (RAAM).

Since his clients have even more talent, some have gone so far as to win their age-group at the Ironman World Championship in Kona and the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, or gone on to pro triathlon careers. Short-course athletes have won gold and silver medals at their national championship age-group race (both triathlon and cycling) and been ranked first overall or first in age-group for the USAT South-Midwest Regional Rankings. Ultracyclists have done solo RAAM and won their age division at numerous events ranging from 6 to 36 hours. Runners have finished second overall at the Houston Half-Marathon (pro division) and won numerous age-group titles at regional marathons and shorter distances. Yet he still takes on beginner athletes doing their first marathon, triathlon or Ironman and college athletes coming from other sports to triathlon.

We don't weigh our company down with a lot of assistant coaches, social distractions, retail sales or middle men--just great one-on-one coaching from one very dedicated dude who coaches, races and writes full time. We strictly limit the number of clients to ensure regular personal contact instead of the "cookie-cutter franchise" approach of larger coaching companies. We do find lots of extras for you, including discounts and gift certificates on top bikes (custom built), wheels, components electronics and other gear, the stuff you really need to go fast. What's Wrong with this Picture?

No, we're not yet racing triathlons or bikes in outer space, but we've learned a lot about the parallels between endurance sports and long-term space flight aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and the potential Mission to Mars. Before becoming a full-time coach, Tom Rodgers was Lead Biomedical Software Engineer for the NASA Human Research Facility aboard the US Destiny lab on the ISS. Ground testing on astronauts using bike wattage, ultrasound, and VO2-max measurements discovered physiological parameters we can use in training for triathlons and bike races. With his advanced electronics knowledge, Tom Rodgers has been using HRMs, power meters, accelerometers and GPS long before most coaches knew what they were doing. And we still know more about them than almost anyone in the business, including the cutting-edge techniques of Functional Threshold Power, Training Stress Score, Normalized Power and Normalized Graded Pace, during both training AND racing. We shared a patent on a run power-meter and developed custom software for analyzing run performance and foot strike.
